has arranged two practice matches with
St Anthonys on Saturday 20 September.

trying to arrange practice matches for

COACHES REQUIRED
The club
is seeking expressions of interest in
coaching our junior teams.
If you are
keen, energetic, communicate well with
children and have a good knowledge of
cricket then you may be just the person
we are looking for.
The Club
will pay the cost of attaining your Level
1 Coaching Accreditation.

from 6:30pm
to 8:30pm

Mt Carberry Clubrooms
It is important
that all senior and junior players wanting
to play in the coming season register
with the club on the night.

fees will be able to be paid in part or
in full on
the night.

ACCA CARNIVAL SQUAD NAMED
WSUCCA's
initial squad for the Australian Carnival
to be held in Melbourne in December 2008
was announced at the WSUCCA AGM.

COMMITTEE
The clubs
2008 Annual General Meeting held on Wednesday
18th June 2008 at the Mt Carberry clubrooms
elected a new committee for the 2008-09
season.
Michael
Scilini, was re-elected as President,
Debra Ferguson takes on the Vice-Presidents
role whilst Chris Pleitner was
again elected to the secretary's role.
Chris Camenzuli steps into the
treasurers role in his first year on the
committee. The general committee members
elected for this season are Debbie
Scilini, Rodney Ferguson,
Francis Camenzuli, Glen Cesar
and Daniel
Brady.
The club
thanks the outgoing committee members
David Kilmartin, Cory Stewart,
Diana Pirro and Leigh Edwards
for their valuable contributions to our
club.
NEW
SENIOR COACH APPOINTED
Following
a process of applications and interviews
the Committee is pleased to announce that
we have appointed Leigh Edwards as
senior coach for the 2008-09 season.
Leigh has
played with the club for 12 years starting
in the Under 12's and has played seniors
with the club since we fielded our very
first senior team.
Leigh has
been the senior club champion for the
previous two seasons and was junior club
champion in 2000-01. Leigh has also previously
coached Melton South Under 14 and Under
16 teams.
The committee
is looking forward to another successful
season in our seniors under the leadership
of our new coach.
We also want
to take the opportunity to thank our outgoing
senior coach, Michael Garwood,
for his contribution to the club as senior
coach during the past two seasons. We
hope to see Chooka still playing for the
club in the new season.

Player Publishes
Novel
Former
Melton South player, Brendan Byrne,
has published his first novel Hunting
the Shadows.
Brendan
played for several seasons predominantly
in C and D grade teams as an opening batsmen
and slow bowler.
